I do not paint myself but I collect Indian paintings which remind me of when I lived in India as a child. Please have a look at my blog as I am slowly adding paintings by the three Raj brothers being Paul, Arul and Thyaga they were from Southern India have you ever heard of them? http://indian-influences.blogspot.com They were born around 1914 to 1925 and painted during the 1940's, 50;s 60s and 70's I am sure you will like them. Keep up the good work.Gold Finchhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03779230685576594399noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2492305696120603079.post-66511189912741913852009-10-06T22:35:54.361-07:002009-10-06T22:35:54.361-07:00Mineke, thats too bigger complimentMineke, thats too bigger complimentAjay Patilhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04886548318881124422noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2492305696120603079.post-23991291196544730152009-10-06T21:02:51.230-07:002009-10-06T21:02:51.230-07:00This has to be one of my favorites too. PC-yes thos...Nithya,PC, Prabal,Arti,Ramesh- Thanks.
PC-yes those leaves are done in two stages -one plain wash and then negative painting around it after the first one was dry.
Arti- as you correctly said acheving freshness is key for transperent watercolors
Ramesh- right. There are few reason which make painting dull
1.Wrong paper,2. Mixing opposite colours-if this is not done carefully its sure to spoil painting 3.overdoing wahses- being transperent media multiple washes still show up wash umderneath 4. pallete- if not cleaned properely will spoil painting even if some residual color is mixed unwantinglyAjay Patilhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04886548318881124422noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2492305696120603079.post-43253455225339323192009-09-29T22:35:52.309-07:002009-09-29T22:35:52.309-07:00In watercolors, after drying the colors become dul...In watercolors, after drying the colors become dull. Many a times I overdo the washes if I don't get the correct value. If the shade is dark then its not a problem.Otherwise it may spoil the work.Nice try, Ajay!Ramesh Jhawarhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01130292431742198195noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2492305696120603079.post-35286620197881065122009-09-29T21:00:41.252-07:002009-09-29T21:00:41.252-07:00The result is quite delightful..I also tend to ove...The result is quite delightful..I also tend to overdo the washes and spoil the freshness of the painting! this one looks very beautiful to me.Artihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05820874950763419111noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2492305696120603079.post-35612974897731685652009-09-29T11:16:36.521-07:002009-09-29T11:16:36.521-07:00Ajay, it's beautifully done !
